This position assists in the planning of occupational therapy services and the training and mentoring of occupational therapy clinicians to enhance occupational therapy skills development. This position consults with the Clinical Supervisors within the Rehab Department and managers of collaborative departments, physicians and professionals regarding the provisions of care, development of programs and clinical skills. In addition, this person will provide direct patient care and provides leadership for the daily administrative functions of multiple specialty programs and new graduate clinical skill development.

Clinical Specialist - Speech Therapy

Posting Note: Full-time (40 hrs per/week); Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm position.

This position assists in the planning and operational management of a specialty rehab program and is the systems consultant on matters relating to MBS, Swallow Clinic & Intensive Feeding programs, as well training and coordination of feeding therapy skills development. This position consults with the Clinical Supervisors within the Rehab Dept, Supervisors and Managers of collaborative departments, physicians and professionals at other facilities regarding the provision of care, development of programs and clinical skills. This position provides outpatient orthopedic & sports physical therapy services primarily to a pediatric population from school age through adolescence/young adulthood. The applicant should be adept and comfortable independently managing the complete continuum of professional services from patient access to appropriate coding and billing practices according to legal/ethical guidelines and hospital policy. Performs evaluations, program planning, and treatment of patients using exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, joint and soft tissue mobilization, taping, electrical stimulation, thermal modalities, etc. specific to age, athletic activity, and developmental/functional level determined by assessment. This position will demonstrate an understanding of billing and coding practices as appropriate for professional outpatient services and its revenue cycle.
