Position Summary

Posting Note: Phoenix Children’s Foundation is seeking a strategic, collaborative and data-informed leader to serve as Director of Marketing Strategy & Integration. This pivotal role will lead the development of brand-aligned, insight-driven marketing initiatives that directly support fundraising revenue. The successful candidate will guide a cross-functional team in building campaigns and experiences that resonate with donors, elevate our brand and drive measurable results across all channels.

This individual will serve as a connector between marketing, fundraising, data, creative and digital – ensuring we show up in ways that are unified, intentional and mission-aligned. The role requires someone who can bring strong strategic vision, creativity, analytical thinking and team leadership to every aspect of our philanthropic communications.

This position reflects the Foundation’s continued investment in thoughtful, integrated marketing leadership grounded in close collaboration across teams. We’re seeking a long-term leader who can be fully engaged in our in-person culture and community – someone ready to build the next evolution of brand strategy, data-informed campaigns and donor experiences that advance our mission and deepen support for Arizona’s children.

Key Responsibilities:
• Brand Strategy & Storytelling Leadership:
Define and drive a unified brand strategy that reflects our mission and elevates our presence across campaigns, content and donor touchpoints.
• Integrated Campaign Development
Lead multi-channel marketing strategies aligned with fundraising priorities, ensuring close coordination across creative, content and digital teams.
• Marketing’s Role in the Donor Experience
Partner with Donor Relations to enhance the donor journey through strategic messaging, channel alignment, and personalized engagement informed by audience insights.
• Team Leadership & Culture Building
Manage and mentor a high-performing team of strategists and contributors, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, accountability and results.
• Data-Informed Marketing Governance
Champion the use of analytics, segmentation and testing to optimize campaign performance and improve outcomes across donor audiences.

Working in close collaboration with the Vice President (VP), the Director of Foundation Development designs and executes on a comprehensive development strategy for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation. The Director oversees and executes on both capital campaigns and ongoing fundraising efforts. This position also forms and manages the Phoenix Children’s Foundation development team, and reports directly to the Vice President.

Position Duties

  • Leadership:
    * Cultivates existing relationships with vendors with the goal of ensuring sufficient space and resources, and access to services.
    * Develops and implements strategies that will maximize the synergies among program areas.
  • Team Management and Development:
    * Develops and implements a system to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all staff.
    * Implements a professional development program to address employee experience and skill gaps.
    * Works with staff to develop objective performance measurements across all sites, to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for all employees.
    * Instills a sense of accountability among team members by modeling tight oversight of individual and organizational performance standards.
    * Recruits, hires, and oversees training and orientation of all staff members.
  • Design Development Strategy:
    * Works with the management team to identify funds needed, preferred funding targets, and approaches.
  • Form and Manage Development Team:
    * Works with the VP and senior leadership team to form a Development Team.
    * Oversees Development Team and identifies staffing needs for campaigns and ongoing development.
  • Fundraising:
    * Conducts research, prospecting, and applications to multiple donor sources.
    * Manages capital campaigns, engaging and overseeing capital campaign firms as necessary.
    * Oversees ongoing development efforts.
  • Build a Robust Donor Base:
    * Develops and maintains key long-term relationships with donors and prospects.
  • Communicate and Train:
    * Trains and mentors Development Staff and communicates fundraising goals and progress throughout the organization.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

4. Experience running campaigns and successful fundraising from multiple donor channels.
