Position Summary
Posting Note: Phoenix Children's is hiring a Student Program Manager for Nursing Services. In this role, the incumbent will be the point person between Phoenix Children's, and ASU. We will be adding the UofA program in the Fall of '25, and NAU in the Spring of 2026, to include those students to our transition to practice program in the future! The ideal incumbent will have a minimum of 2+ years as a pediatric nurse, a minimum of one year leadership experience, as well as having an educational background as a preceptor, teaching didactics in a hospital setting, as well other ad hoc nursing courses. In this role, the incumbent will work closely with the universities to offer clinical rotations to students in the nursing program. You will be the point person to determine the number of positions available for students in the Transition to Practice Program, determining how many students each unit can support, and making final selections of students through the interviewing process. This role will require extremely competent organizational skills, exceptional communication skills, and demonstrated multi-tasking skills for working with stakeholders inside/outside the organization. Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, Masters preferred.
This position provides leadership to align educational programs to promote professional development and enhance the practice of pediatric nurses by supporting the goals and objectives of the organization and the academic affiliation. This position collaborates with community partners and internal stakeholders to manage the student nurse experience in accordance with established standards, requirements and regulations.
Position Duties

Leads collaborations with other disciplines and departments as a change agent and acts as the primary liaison with academic affiliations to implement and evaluate the pediatric nursing cohort and blend pediatric focused academic experiences

Oversees and manages all nursing student clinical rotations, education affiliation agreements, and compliance requirements at Phoenix Children’s in collaboration with nursing and affiliated academic organizations.

Engages in ongoing organizational endeavors which support the philosophy and values of Phoenix Children’s, aligning with nursing model of care and professional development.

Serves as a resource, mentor and role model for nursing, hospital staff and community.

Leads, plans, implements, and evaluates learning opportunities based on evidence using a variety of teaching strategies.

Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
