Posting Note:
What You’ll Do
The Division Support Tech is a hands-on support position within the NICU and is not an Environmental Services (EVS) position. While cleaning and disinfecting medical equipment is an important part of the job, this role is focused on unit support, equipment readiness, organization, and helping prepare the NICU for patient care. Though this is not a clinical position, you will work closely with the nursing team to make sure equipment, supplies, and patient rooms are organized and ready when needed.
The DST is a great opportunity for someone looking to build experience in a hospital environment. Previous NICU or clinical experience is not required, and training will be provided on the unit’s equipment and processes. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently. Training will be provided on the unit’s specific equipment and cleaning processes.
Day to day, you will:
• Clean and disinfect medical equipment, including infant beds and incubators.
• Prepare and organize equipment for patient rooms.
• Move equipment and supplies throughout the unit and hospital.
• Restock supplies and help keep equipment organized.
• Check common areas and refrigerators for cleanliness and expired items.
• Follow checklists and cleaning procedures to make sure equipment is ready for use.
• Manage several tasks at once and look for other ways to help when your assigned work is complete.
• This is a physically active position. You will spend most of your shift walking, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, and moving equipment rather than sitting at a desk.
• You will work in a NICU environment around critically ill infants, families, nurses, and medical equipment. While this is not a direct patient-care position, you should be comfortable working in a hospital and around sensitive medical situations.
Schedule Expectations
• Monday - Friday 11:00 AM–7:30 PM; 40-hour-per-week position consisting of five 8-hour shifts.
• Weekend coverage may be required approximately every third weekend. During a weekend rotation, weekday shifts will be adjusted so the employee remains scheduled for 40 hours per week.
