Position Summary
Posting Note: Phoenix Children’s is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Equipment Technician to support the Respiratory Services team at the Thomas Campus. This part-time evening position (6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.) is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in exploring a career in healthcare while working alongside Respiratory Therapists and multidisciplinary clinical teams in a pediatric hospital. Responsibilities include performing EKGs, stocking and maintaining respiratory supplies, cleaning and transporting equipment for sterile processing, gathering equipment for patient care, and providing operational support to the Respiratory Therapy department. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, a strong critical thinker, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. A high school diploma and current BLS certification are required. Successful completion of a nationally and/or state accredited ECG Technician program is preferred. The position offers valuable hands-on exposure to pediatric healthcare, making it an excellent entry point for individuals considering careers in Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, or other allied health professions.
This position performs a variety of routine tasks and functions including but not limited to: ordering and stocking of clean supplies; the cleaning, set-up, and transport of equipment and other patient related items, ensuring availability and readiness for the clinical care team. This position will also perform ECGs under a Provider order and may also be required to maintain and reconcile the ECG database.
Position Duties

Equipment/Supply Management
Orders, receives, and stocks necessary supplies where needed.
Adjusts inventory based on volumes, availability, and back orders.
Collects used re-processable supplies, takes to Sterile Processing, and redistributes processed supplies to appropriate areas.
Cleans, redistributes, and stages equipment as necessary.
Assists the Team Leaders/Supervisors in managing Point of Care supplies and medical gas and supply ordering -
Time Management
Manages workload with minimal supervision.
Balances multiple priorities effectively.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize and prioritize tasks. -
Quality/Regulatory
Stays apprised of ECRI alerts. Assists with follow up and collaboration with the appropriate stakeholders.
Proactively identifies areas of risk and/or improvements and communicates to leadership.
Organizes and maintains order of equipment/supply areas, ensuring compliance with Infection Prevention and regulatory guidelines. -
Communication/Collaboration
Collaborates and communicates effectively with the RT bedside staff, RT Leadership and Biomedical staff.
Communicates with Vendor support personnel, when applicable.
Relays pertinent information to the RT Leadership team in a timely manner (i.e. supplies on back-order, delivery issues/concerns, etc.) -
Performs non-invasive cardiac testing
Performs electrocardiograms under the order of a physician.
Ensures proper procedure is followed regarding order verification, report generation, and result dissemination -
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
