The Optometry Resident (Fellow) is both a learner and provider of advanced pediatric eye care. The Optometry Fellow is guided and supervised by the attending faculty. As the fellow`s competency and experience increase, the supervision will be appropriately modified. The Optometry Fellow participates in teaching students and presents at quarterly journal clubs.

• Performs comprehensive eye examinations on children of all ages in the outpatient clinic setting.
  
  Performs retinoscopy, ophthalmoscopy, biomicroscopy, and develops assessment and treatment plans.
• Completes academic assignments of readings and case report development.
  
  Discusses weekly assigned readings with faculty, develops journal club articles quarterly, and leads topical discussion with students.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
