The Clinical Laboratory Geneticist interprets results of Clinical Genomics testing, including chromosomal microarray, next generation sequencing, pharmacogenomics, and and cancer genomics, and works collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Genomics to develop and optimize testing. The Clinical Laboratory Geneticist provides clinical consultation to providers and continuing education for molecular technologists pertaining to the diagnosis of genetic disease. The Clinical Laboratory Geneticist provides technical operations and quality leadership support as needed for the Director of Clinical Genomics Laboratory.
This position offers a unique opportunity for a Genetic Counselor to become involved in the implementation of laboratory genetic consultation service in the Clinical Genomics Laboratory. The selected candidate will closely work with laboratory medical directors and other laboratory personnel, and provide information and technical support to the clients.
This position performs a variety of routine laboratory specimen processing functions from patients of all ages to provide data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. This position receives close clinical supervision of completed work activities from the Specimen Processing Supervisor and does not supervise any other position.
This is a patient/customer service-oriented position which is responsible for timely and accurate patient scheduling, specimen collection, and ordering to ensure timely and accurate results. The position requires knowledge and experience with venipuncture techniques to successfully acquire blood with minimal adverse impact to pediatric patients. A knowledge of electronic health record and laboratory information systems to manage patient specimen orders and submissions is required. This position reports to the Supervisor, Pre-Analytics.

The Medical Laboratory Scientist II performs and interprets standard, complex and specialized laboratory tests. The MLS II has an understanding of the underlying scientific principles of laboratory testing as well as the technical, procedural, and problem-solving aspects. The MLS II correlates abnormal laboratory data with pathologic states, determines validity of test results and need for additional investigation. The MLS II has an understanding of quality control programs, and evaluates computer-generated data and troubleshoots problems. The MLS II is able to participate in the introduction, investigation and implementation of new procedures and in the evaluation of new instruments. The MLS II understands and enforces regulatory requirements and safety regulations. This position receives supervision of completed work activities from the supervisor.
The Supervisor, Lab Pre-Analytics oversees the laboratory processing, sendout testing, sweat testing, and phlebotomy teams. The supervisor provides general supervision for assigned staff to ensure daily technical operations achieve and comply with established operating budget, quality control, inventory management and regulatory standards. The supervisor works collaboratively with lab administrative and medical leadership to implement best practices in all assigned areas, engage with inpatient/outpatient nursing, and ambulatory clinic staff and leadership. Supervisor performs backup duties for leads and staff in all assigned areas if needed.
This position provides general supervision for assigned staff to ensure daily technical operations achieve and comply with established operating budget, quality control, inventory management and regulatory standards. This position receives managerial review of completed work activities from the Laboratory Manager. This position supervises Laboratory staff.
