Posting Note: Outpatient Coding experience, specifically drug administration (i.e. injection and infusion) coding.

This position assigns, per coding guidelines, the current version of ICD diagnosis and procedure codes and CPT-4 procedure codes for Observation, Same Day Surgery, Emergency Department, Urgent Care and/or Ancillary medical records. Completes coding for all accounts on a timely basis within the four day bill hold time frame. Follows up on all accounts needing coding queries or documentation completion by clinicians or medical staff. Demonstrates coding competencies with quality of coding and daily output of volume consistent with department productivity standards.

Health Information Technician Specialist

This mid-level level position performs all the duties of the HIM Technician and advanced duties such as general ROI requests, patient portal inquiries, MPI edits, importing of documents or charts, and research of chart requests in multiple systems in compliance with organizational policies and HIPAA and government regulations. Maintains the confidentiality of our patient's protected health information. At all times, ensures that only authorized individuals have access to the patient's health information. Recalls charts from offsite storage, other clinics, or specific areas to ensure complete charts are provided when necessary. Monitoring and completing transcription work queues. This position is also responsible for resolving problems with documents such as missing medical record numbers, wrong document name, etc.. Assists HIM Management with special projects.
