Position Summary

The Social Media Manager is responsible for fostering engagement with target audiences across clinical and consumer platforms and maintaining a positive image and reputation for Phoenix Children’s. This position is chiefly in charge of defining and executing on social media engagement, in line with the overall content strategy for Phoenix Children’s. Responsibilities include overseeing the organization’s social media strategies across online platforms; managing, creating and reviewing social media content; monitoring engagement and interactions with social media audiences and review sites; and measuring the effectiveness of Phoenix Children’s social media efforts. To be successful in this role, excellent writing skills and previous experience with social media strategy, planning, execution and measurement is needed.

Position Duties

  • Social Media Strategy and Management
    Develops social media strategy across Phoenix Children`s key social media platforms, including the enterprise social media accounts as well as key clinical-specific accounts, which will include: developing and overseeing annual social media story roadmap; reviewing monthly content plan; optimizing engagement with target audiences; monitoring interactions with social media followers and triaging questions/complaints; monitoring for proactive/social-influencer opportunities to build online brand. Stays current with social media best practices and industry trends as it relates to health care social media and content strategy. Collaborates with marketing and HR colleagues on paid social media campaigns and recommendations.
  • Content Creation and Curation
    Serves as the primary team member responsible for creating and curating visual assets and copy for the main enterprise social media channels across all platforms. This may include photos of employees and patient families, videos of Phoenix Children’s events and curating content in partnership with patient families and employees. Also responsible for understanding and upholding the Phoenix Children’s brand, including tone and voice, photography style and color palette, for social media content. Works closely with colleagues throughout the system to repackage and share complementary content for integrated communications.
  • Monitoring, Measurement and Reporting
    Monitors social media platforms and reviews sites daily, including ongoing review of performance of social media strategies against stated objectives. Develops real-time measurement and key performance indicators for the enterprise social media program. Analyzes performance of content and platforms and look for ways to continually improve engagement and outcomes. Develops monthly, quarterly and annual executive-facing reporting that clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of Phoenix Children’s social media – both against goals and against industry leaders.
  • Social Media Training and Support
    Develops training materials to help instruct colleagues running clinical social media platforms in best practices. Conducts quarterly social media training for clinicians, executives and clinical social media account administrators. Works with clinical leadership and executives by providing guidance and support on how they can utilize their professional social media channels in service of Phoenix Children’s social media marketing efforts.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
