Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading the deployment, implementation, training and maintenance of clinical systems within their clinical IT department operated at PCH. These responsibilities include the hiring and retention of staff, managing of all aspects of system implementation and support, and a key role in the strategic direction of IT clinical systems in partnership with other clinical systems leadership. It is expected that all IT directors also take a role in the overall direction of the division, and make regular and valuable contributions to the overall operation of the division.
Position Duties

Directs the implementation of new clinical systems within their area of responsibility
- Serves as an IT sponsor for key initiatives and manages those initiatives in collaboration with their operational counterparts and the project management office to ensure on time and successful project delivery

Directs the support and maintenance of existing clinical systems within their area of responsibility
- Has an understanding of and helps manage vendor relationships along with contracts and invoicing for the applications under their responsibility

Monitors and improves customer service in all areas of responsibility
- Leverages data and ongoing metrics to ensure continual improvements in customer service. Holds supervisors accountable for ensuring all team members provide outstanding customer service within their areas of expertise

Takes a leadership role in the selection process of new clinical solutions
- Stays current of industry trends and solutions in order to provide expert recommendations for innovative and forward thinking solutions at PCH. Oversees the selection process in partnership with other key stakeholders

Actively participates in the leadership of the IT Division
- Brings new ideas, innovations and operational expertise to the IT division and partners across the division to ensure the department strategy and ongoing operations are well informed and managed
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
