Position Summary

The Patient Logistics Dispatcher is a high energy, detail-oriented position requiring a positive attitude working in a 24/7 environment. Responsibilities include communicating verbally and electronically with all departments in the hospital, along with coordinating staff resources to respond to logistical transport requests in an efficient manner. Maintains highest level of professional communication and excellent customer service working with team members, patients, and families.

Position Duties

  1. Maintain Workflow
    • Receives, prioritizes, and dispatches a high volume of transport request efficiently. Must be able to multitask using/monitoring multiple electronic systems with multiple screens.
    • Responsible for maintaining transport workflow of the shift. Problem solves by placing patient needs first, using excellent customer service to interface with transport and clinical teams.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication using Microsoft Office, phone, secure messaging, and other electronic systems.
  2. Productivity
    • Provides direction to the transport team to ensure resources are used in the most efficient manner.
  3. Job Knowledge
    • Resources on active processes in the transport department, along with all other interfacing departments that utilize transport services including Emergency Department, Care Areas, ICU’s, and Surgical departments.
  4. Quality
    • Uses report-based data to adjust staffing levels per the guidelines. Creates end of shift reports productivity, quality and customer service, for action needed by manager.
  5. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
