Position Summary

The Polysomnographic (PSG)/Sleep Technologist I is an entry to mid-level position in the Sleep Lab department. The PSG/Sleep Technologist I is able to perform polysomnography testing, scoring, CPAP/BiPAP titration, and oxygen titration independently. The PSG/Sleep Technologist I will perform the polysomnogram, including test set up, electrode application, maintaining patient safety during clinically significant events, and other related duties. This position works under direct or indirect supervision of a RPSGT Communication skills are essential for this position.

Position Duties

  1. The Polysomnographic/Sleep Technologist I demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and competencies to perform a variety of sleep procedures independently:
  2. Maintains continuing education and competencies; acquires new competencies relative to industry standards in Sleep Medicine and sleep studies working towards certification in Polysomnography.
  3. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
