Position Summary

This position manages the Value Analysis Program, through collaboration with senior leadership, Medical Staff, clinical staff, and vendors to achieve maximum supply investment value by focusing on supply standardization, utilization, and process improvements leveraging high quality and cost-effective products and services. This position will facilitate decision making for the selection and sourcing of supplies and suppliers. The position develops and maintains collaborative interactions with key stakeholders to ensure effective, results-oriented outcomes.

Position Duties

  1. Lead the Value Analysis process for Phoenix Children`s
    • Identifies products and services to maximize value and clinical efficacy. Establishes and manages the Value Analysis committee structure. Provides committee and subcommittee oversight, facilitation, documentation, and administration, and develops communication plans and materials related to training and other mass messaging.
  2. Source and gain approval for alternate products in times of sustained product shortages impacting multiple teams
    • Leads efforts coordinated with the Purchasing and Distribution staff to fully vet, decide and document approval for alternate sourcing options when sustained issues arise with product availability or supplier services. Proactively creates and manages communication plans to message shortage situation assessments and timely updates to stakeholders.
  3. Facilitates the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and cost management programs
    • Interacts with appropriate clinical and operational leaders to develop, coordinate, integrate, launch, and manage cost management projects/programs with clinical practice leaders. Facilitates Value Analysis role in practice development, data collection and analysis, implementation, and project monitoring. Facilitates system wide implementation of new products related to a new technology introductions or cost management programs.
  4. Standardizations and improved utilization
    • Leads efforts to maximize cost savings through standardization and improved utilization of supplies, including physician preference items, through the Value Analysis process and completes and submits appropriate reports, as required, on a timely basis
  5. Conversion and standardization project implementation
    • Manages the supply conversion and implementation process to maximize compliance with the GPO and any affiliate contract portfolio. Evaluates opportunities to improve standardization and utilization. Prioritizes efforts to maximize cost savings through standardization and improved utilization of supplies.
  6. Maintain industry knowledge
    • Researches and stays up-to-date on industry information with the latest clinical practices and products related to areas of focus.
  7. Identifies and implements cost saving opportunities
    • Proactively identifies cost savings opportunities using available resources, i.e., available Spend Analytics Programs, Affiliate contracts, and standard value analysis methodology. In collaboration with Process Optimization, develops strategies and identifies process improvements that are focused on substantial supply/service cost reduction, standardization and utilization, while maintaining or enhancing quality.
  8. Value Analysis activity documentation and reports
    • Tracks timelines and resources associated with projects and requests centralized within the Supply Chain Contract Portfolio tracking document. Tracks and communicates product sourcing, evaluation, and trial feedback results; analyzes the variance in actual usage and costs against predicted-expected outcomes; facilitates and documents decisions in accordance with established procedures.
  9. Clinical personnel and physician advisory
    • Works directly with clinical/physician leadership to build and sustain support of the Value Analysis processes and decision-making procedures.
  10. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
