Position Summary

This position provides a unique opportunity to develop and maintain the bioinformatics solutions for the Clinical Genomics Laboratory. The successful candidate will also be involved in the analysis of clinical Next-Generation Sequencing data, including gene panels and whole exome sequencing data. This position receives supervision of completed work activities from the Director of Clinical Genomics.

Position Duties

  1. Maintain and enhance the established NGS pipeline modules and work flow for clinical genomic applications
  2. Lead the planning and execution of bioinformatics projects
  3. Develop and maintain in-house web applications for clinical genomic service
  4. Develop and maintain the databases
  5. Closely work with Section Director of Clinical Genomics and clinical genomics team to enhance the efficiency of clinical genomics testing work flow
  6. Write and maintain bioinformatics standard operating procedures
  7. Perform oversight of bioinformatics scientists and mentor junior bioinformatics staff
  8. Perform clinical genomics data analysis according to validation methods
  9. Keep up to date with latest developments in NGS applications in clinical diagnostics
  10. Perform troubleshooting on data processing and analysis tasks
  11. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
