Position Summary
Directs the day-to-day operations of General Accounting and Disbursements. Directly responsible for all General Ledger activity and includes direct oversight of the Disbursements function including Payroll and Accounts Payable. Works closely with the Controller to create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement for accounting and disbursements.

Position Duties
- Plans and organizes the financial aspects of the organization including assisting the Controller in the development and administration of accounting policies and internal controls.
- Provides leadership, direction and training to Accounting Team.
- Oversees cash disbursements through Payroll and Accounts Payable. Reviews and approves daily disbursements above a specific amount.
- Provides oversight of account reconciliations, reviews and prepares journal entries and reviews a monthly close package.
- Coordinates external audits and preparation of tax returns.
- Works closely with Controller to implement new policies and procedures and identify areas to improve efficiency and effectiveness of department.
- Manages the optimization of ERP and GL system to drive efficient and effective processes in addition to timely and accurate period close and financial reporting.
- Provides education on financial concepts to management and staff.
- Compares actual financial performance to annual budget by analyzing budget variances and recommending corrective action.
- Prepares or reviews the preparation of special financial reports as requested.
- Assists in developing the annual capital and operating budgets as well as preparation of the long range forecast.
- Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
