Position Summary

Posting Note: JOB SUMMARY The Sr. Officer of Foundation and Corporate Grant Philanthropy will report to the Sr. Director of Foundation and Corporate Grant Philanthropy. This position will be a new position to the Grant Philanthropy team and is responsible for generating a new line of philanthropic revenue through corporate grants. This position is responsible for identifying new corporate engagement opportunities, re-engaging existing or lapsed funders, and identifying and building relationships with internal corporate representatives for the purpose of securing corporate grant funding. Responsibilities will include coordination and strategic planning to meet fundraising and donor acquisition goals for the Foundation. This position also represents the Hospital and Foundation in the community. There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position. This position will have a dotted line to the VP of Corporate Relations and will work very collaboratively with the Corporate Relations Team. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Duties I. Develops and cultivates new corporate relationships including: 1. Prospect for new partners and donors by networking, cold calls or other means of generating interest 2. Set up meetings and tours with prospective partners and donors 3. Plan approaches and pitches/presentations to prospective partners and donors in collaboration with Corporate Relations Team and the Grant Philanthropy Team 4. Handle negotiations and secure partnership II. Manage, develop, and cultivate new relationships to grow portfolio and revenue 1. In collaboration with the Grant Philanthropy Team and the Corporate Relations Team prepares and implements a detailed fiscal year plan that includes goal setting with individual partner strategies and tactics to identify corporate grant fundraising opportunities. 2. Identifies internal PCH champions to help grow the PCH partnership within the organization 3. Identifies PCH programs, research service, or need that aligns with corporate giving strategy 4. Keeps accurate records of all partnerships. Forecast and track key metrics 5. Act as main liaison between partner and cross-functional internal teams to ensure timely and successful execution of solicitations 6. Collaborate with Donor Experience, Decision Support teams to ensure Marketing & Communications, PR, Digital, Donor Relations, stewardship and reporting requirements for corporate partners and donors are met 7. Collaborate with support teams for partnership action plans and timelines, execution and fulfillment, systems to track results, ensure accurate reporting and information within the support systems relative to account portfolio 8. Represents PCH at community meetings, special events, and PCH donor tours III. Works with Sr. Director, Grant Philanthropy Team, and Research team to identify pipeline of new business opportunities, including: 1. Identify corporate prospects for research 2. Collaborate on corporate leads and prospects with the Development and Corporate Relations teams. 3. Understanding industry and market trends and use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop new opportunities IV. As part of the Foundation team, works with the CDO and directors for the smooth, effective and strategic operations of the Foundation, including a. Aids the entire Foundation in meeting its strategic and fundraising goals b. Assists in the implementation of other Foundation initiatives, including grant solicitations, major events, donor relations programs, kick-offs, and tours c. Develops expertise in Hospital Centers of Excellence and service lines d. Assumes other responsibilities as appropriate

Reporting to the VP of Individual Giving, the Sr Philanthropy Officer is a seasoned major gifts fundraiser responsible for securing individual gifts with an emphasis on $100,000 and above. Success is achieved by building long term donor partnerships and demonstrating that all levels of philanthropic support are leveraged to realize maximum impact for Phoenix Children’s mission. The ideal candidate is energetic and enthusiastic, metrics-driven, and is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Position Duties

  1. Manages a portfolio of 125-150 prospects.
  2. Develops and implements thoughtful, strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for prospective donors for gifts of $25,000 with an emphasis on $100,000 or more.
  3. Ensures regular contact with donors through various activities and communications, especially face to face meetings.
  4. Identifies and develops joint major giving opportunities in collaboration with colleagues and team members across the foundation.
  5. Develops and manages timelines for various fundraising activities to ensure plans and critical fundraising processes are carried out in a timely manner.
  6. Develops expertise in hospital Centers of Excellence and service lines. Serves as foundation liaison in assisting physicians, program directors and administration with capital and programmatic funding needs.
  7. Manages a philanthropic advisory board for one of the Centers of Excellence.
  8. Supports the Director, Individual Giving on fundraising activities and follow-up.
  9. Meets annual activity and financial performance metrics.
  10. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
