Position Summary

The Revenue Analyst III creates and maintains reporting on financial performance and supports Revenue Cycle operations through consistent and thoughtful data analysis. Typical responsibilities include gathering data from multiple sources, benchmarking to key indicators, adjusting for market conditions and strategic objectives, applying independent judgment to check for reasonableness, and interpreting various types of healthcare financial data—including transaction and denial records. The Revenue Analyst III presents modeling results and summaries, communicates with an array of internal departments to support ongoing Revenue Cycle strategies, and provides crucial insight into performance while identifying improvement opportunities for senior leadership.

Position Duties

  1. Data Analytics
    • Develops and produces accurate, actionable, and consistent reporting for Revenue Cycle and other departments as needed. Reports include descriptive summaries of cash collections, denial resolution, and other indicators of financial performance. Effectively communicates results of analyses, including recommending courses of action in writing and in person with key stakeholders and senior leadership.
  2. Data Integrity
    • Proactively identifies data anomalies and exceptions as observed in healthcare financial data. Independently benchmarks results against different sources. Investigates the reasons for and impacts of data anomalies, exceptions, and deviations from benchmarks in order to explain these issues to project lead and/or senior leadership.
  3. Project Leadership
    • Serves as project lead on small to mid-sized department projects. Provides appropriate written and verbal communication to team members, manager, and customers regarding project status, issue identification and resolution, and final results.
  4. Cross-department Functionality
    • Consults with various internal teams to understand objectives, decision-making processes, and analytics needs to ensure that information provided is relevant.
  5. Communication
    • Provides insight and expertise when defining the analytics to be performed, including knowledge of the team’s capabilities and flexibility of different approaches. Takes detailed notes to ensure that accurate information is collected on the scope of each project and associated data.
  6. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
