Position Summary

This position provides quality and regulatory support for the Quality and Regulatory Manager of the laboratory for the development, implementation, and administration of the laboratory`s quality management and safety programs to ensure all applicable regulatory compliance.

Position Duties

  1. Under the direction of laboratory leadership, ensures regulatory compliance and quality standards of all areas of the laboratory including Anatomic Pathology and Biorepository. Ensures compliance with all accreditation standards, federal and state laws.
  2. Work with laboratory leadership to perform risk assessments, data analysis, compliance audits and records reviews on the effectiveness of the quality and compliance processes and controls. Maintains, establishes, and produce licenses/accreditation and regulatory files.
  3. Assists with coordination of accreditation and regulatory inspections, gathering, providing information, researching, communicating, and documenting the process. Responsible for coordinating timely responses to accrediting agencies post-inspection.
  4. Assists in development and implementation of policies, procedures, training, and educational programs for all areas of the laboratory. Leads performance improvement initiatives for the program and monitors their effectiveness. Serves as a document administrator in the laboratory`s document control system.
  5. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures where appropriate. Oversees laboratory safety and chemical hygiene plans to maintain a safe environment for laboratory staff.
  6. Serves as a liaison between Laboratory and other hospital areas to coordinate all quality improvement activities for optimal efficiency and effectiveness; recommends process changes as appropriate.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
