Position Summary

This position plans and coordinates daily activities and projects of assigned staff related to ensuring adequate level and flow of supplies, receiving activities, equipment cleaning and inventory, and mailroom operations for the assigned location within Phoenix Children`s Hospital. This leader provides overall supply chain team supervision for site operations primarily related to supply and equipment inventory management, and ensures daily operations achieve and comply with established operating budgets, quality control, inventory reliability and sufficiency procedures and regulatory standards. This leader works closely with department leaders to coordinate daily workflow and approved project work to improve service and reduce supply expenses. This position is required to train and function in all Supply Chain job functions, and is the primary back-up for Lawson Inventory Control (IC) and PAR Excellence workflows. This leader also works closely with Biomedical Engineering to ensure equipment distribution adheres to requirements for safe use.

Position Duties

  1. Supervises daily operations and staffing for all supply distribution activity. Monitor team productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Create and manage team schedules, organize workflow and ensure that team understands their duties or delegated tasks.
  2. Demonstrates skills and abilities to provide leadership to the Central Supply/Warehouse staff in inventory management. Maximizes Lawson inventory management system use within the department. Act as back-up person to the Lawson System Administrator on all inventory control (IC) functions within Lawson. Works closely with Inventory coordinator to ensure supply availability.
  3. Collects and compiles monthly statistical information. Prepares operational and statistical reports to identify areas of opportunity and to assist in decision making processes.
  4. Helps create, implement and manage Supply Chain Management policy and procedures. Is aware of and adheres to all regulatory policies, requirements and guidelines.
  5. Works closely and cooperatively with customers regarding special supply requests, supply problems, and other related needs and opportunities to ensure timely and appropriate resolution.
  6. Works with Director and Manager to help develop and manage department operating budget
  7. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
