Position Summary

This position support the cleanliness and proper functioning of unit based equipment as well as ensuring the overall appropriateness of the environment on each assigned unit.

Position Duties

  1. This position support the cleanliness and proper functioning of unit based equipment as well as ensuring the overall appropriateness of the environment on each assigned unit.
    • Cleans patient based refrigerators and freezers on a weekly basis
    • Coordinates with EVS to ensure cleaning of family and staff lounge refrigerator, freezer and microwave.
    • Cleans assigned unit equipment weekly such as vital sign machines, bladder scanner, scales, and wagons.
    • Ensures any non-disposable instrumentation is processed and sent to central processing.
    • Maintains par levels of any department specific supplies.
  2. Ensures on a weekly basis the overall unit meets the identified environmental standards.
    • Completes the weekly environmental rounds on each assigned unit.
    • Partners with facilities to ensure work orders are resolved.
  3. Ensures unit has the required devices in working order to provide patient care.
    • Complete location of unit equipment inventory each week / monthly per schedule.
    • Ensure all of the devices are in working order (i.e. has power cords and modules as required) and escalates concerns as needed.
    • Partners with Bio Med to ensure unit based devices are safety checked per schedule and work orders are resolved.
  4. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
