Position Summary

This position will be responsible for overseeing and conducting clinical, translational and basic science research projects, analyzing data, performing laboratory assays and reporting results. The Research Associate will work independently in order to ensure the successful completion of study aims. This will include: interacting with participants and their families, procuring specimens, collecting data, processing samples, performing laboratory assays and analyzing and presenting study findings. The successful candidate will also be responsible for administrative and appropriate regulatory support (IRB and other regulatory documents) in accordance with all federal, state, and regulatory agency requirements and specific institutional requirements.

Position Duties

  1. Serve as the lead for PCH projects on behalf of the study PI.
    • a.Spearheads the design of studies, sample preparation and analysis, data analysis, presentation, interaction with collaborating community partners, clinicians, and researchers, and preparation of material for publication.
    • b.Oversees other study personnel, including students.
    • c.Interacts with patients and families on behalf of the research team.
    • d.Ensures study activities are completed in compliance with protocol or standard operating procedures and that study staff has appropriate training and certification.
    • e.The Research Associate will work closely with the PI to effectively meet study objectives in a timely manner.
  2. Complies with all regulatory and safety requirements and monitors staff compliance
  3. Provides input and manages evaluation activities, including providing guidance on evaluation questions and outcome measurements.
  4. Oversees study-related budget expenditures.
  5. Create policies and procedures and designs specific tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in completing study tasks.
  6. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
