Position Summary

Position Duties

  1. Obtains, stores and distributes updated payer information
    • Works collaboratively with payer contacts to ensure timely receipt of updated fee schedules, policies, manuals, guidelines, and other contractual documents. Works collaboratively with internal partners to coordinate storage of contract and contract related documentation in compliance with department guidelines. Ensures appropriate internal distribution of payer contract data and information updates. Distribution may include: external and internal contracted payer and product lists, updated contract information, payer/plan codes changes
  2. Identifies potential contract compliance issues, opportunities to improve revenue streams, administrative barriers, and other managed care-related issues and tasks
    • Manages contract database and reporting. Analyzes major contract terms to identify opportunities for risk and/or opportunity and reports out findings to Managed Care team. Prospectively identifies operational and financial opportunities and threats. Provides meaningful feedback to leadership and peers to help guide strategy and operational decision making. Provides insight to managed care contract negotiators and other members of the Managed Care team to support effective negotiation of contracts and ensure organization is able to comply with contract standards.
  3. Maintains collaborative relationships with payer partners in order to ensure timely acquisition of payer information and data.
    • Maintains schedule for fee schedule and other payer updates. Successfully collaborates with payer partners in order to obtain all required data and information within required timeframes. Interacts with all individuals in a professional and customer-focused manner.
  4. Optimizes Managed Care tools as needed via design, testing, upgrades and support
    • Maintains department databases for data management and reporting of contract and/or
    • provider information; tracks various departmental metrics using data downloads from
    • internal and external sources. Stays current in knowledge of contract management module techniques and technologies through active participation in primary system vendor training sessions and user groups. Databases may include: Meditract Contract Library and Process Manager, facility credentialing data, and payer contact information
  5. Prepares and Distributes Standard and Ad-Hoc Reports
    • Prepares standard and ad hoc reports from Meditract, Transplant Database, and Report Hub using
    • MS Access, Excel, Crystal Reports, and other report writing tools. Assists other staff members
    • with reporting needs. Analyze results of reports and create meaningful summary level information
  6. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
