Position Summary

This position is responsible for administering the cardiothoracic intensive care unit database which includes; collecting patient data, data input, database upkeep (including software/ computer function), report generation, data fidelity/quality assurance and implements and maintains reporting to the Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care Consortium (PC4).

Position Duties

  1. Collects patient data according to the requirements of the PC4 database and in accordance with the CVICU goals and objectives.
  2. Directly interfaces/administers the relationship between PCH and PC4 and maintains knowledge of the PC4 registry definitions and requirements.
  3. Ensures database confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  4. Inputs patient data into the computer based registry in accordance with PC4 requirements.
  5. Responsible for CVICU database management, training, utilization, maintenance, and evolution. Identifies database needs and communicates with the CVICU physician champion regarding those needs.
  6. 6. Reviews the analytics report with the CVICU physician champion.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.

Position Qualifications

1. Two year (ADN) degree in Nursing, Four year degree (BSN) or a Diploma Nursing degree Required
2. Bachelor degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

1. Three (3) or more years of clinical experience Required
2. Previous experience in data abstraction/entry experience Required
3. Experience using computers including spreadsheets Required
4. Experience with electronic health records Preferred
5. Congenital heart experience Preferred

1. Current State of Arizona RN License or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges. Required
