Schedule: 8-hour shift with flexible start times between 6:00 AM – 8:30 AM (end time between 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM, depending on start) Arizona Time


Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist with a strong background in physician healthcare billing and insurance collections. This role will focus on resolving outstanding accounts receivable, following payer requirements, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance carriers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record working with physician-based claims and insurance follow-up.


Key Responsibilities
Manage and resolve healthcare accounts receivable (AR) related to physician services.
Perform insurance collections and follow-up on outstanding claims.
Review and work HCFA/CMS-1500 claim forms for physician billing.
Investigate and resolve denied, underpaid, or delayed claims.
Communicate with insurance payers to secure proper reimbursement.
Ensure compliance with payer guidelines and governmental requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation of account activity and resolutions.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing and coding discrepancies.


Required Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience
2 years of physician healthcare insurance billing and collections experience

Proven experience with healthcare AR collections.
Experience with insurance collections and payer follow-up.
Experience working with physician claims (CMS-1500 / 1500 claim form).

Ability to follow payer and governmental requirements in accordance with organizational policies.

Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.


Preferred Qualifications
Multispecialty physician billing experience (highly preferred).

This position collects payments for an assigned segment of the Accounts Receivable and performs collection duties in accordance with established federal and state regulations.

• Bills both electronically and manually, as needed, and uses all technology available to produce clean claims.
  
• Interprets claims processing reports and applies information to produce clean claims.
  
• Maintains current knowledge of regulatory billing requirements.
  
• Makes changes to demographic information as necessary in order to produce a clean claim.
  
• Meets or exceeds productivity standards in the completion of daily assignments and accurate production.
  
• Analyzes coding to assure proper billing of claim.
  
• Participates in a variety of hospital educational programs to maintain current skill and competency levels.
  
• Requests and attaches required clinical documentation in accordance with third party requirements.
  
• Services accounts in priority of importance, independently billing accounts with understanding of all applicable insurance and CMS regulations. Prioritizes work to maximized turnaround time.
