Position Summary
Posting Note: Nursing Services Student Program Specialist (RN)
Seeking an experienced, educator-focused RN to support nursing student programs and academic affiliations. This role supports nursing students in pre-licensed programs, licensed programs, and our affiliated schools to coordinate student placements, ensure compliance, and deliver a seamless clinical experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate student clinical placements and onboarding for all nursing programs
Ensure compliance requirements are met for students and instructors
Support nursing affiliation agreements and program operations
Collaborate with simulation and nurse residency teams
Participate in student rounding and provide ongoing support throughout rotations
Assist with skills assessment days and hands-on competency check-offs
Facilitate a smooth transition from student to clinical practice
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexible)
Occasional schedule adjustments (e.g., 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) based on student competency weeks
No overtime required
Qualifications:
Active AZ RN license required
Minimum 2 years of preceptor experience required
Pediatric experience required
Strong organizational, coordination, and compliance management skills
Experience working with students and/or academic partnerships preferred
This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in preparing nursing students for clinical success while supporting a collaborative and growing education environment.
This position, under the direction of the Nursing Services Student Programs Manager, assists with the alignment of educational programs to promote professional development and enhance the practice of pediatric nurses by supporting the goals and objectives of the organization and the academic affiliation. This position collaborates with community partners and internal stakeholders to assist with the student nurse experience in accordance with established standards, requirements and regulations.
Position Duties

Assists in planning and implementation of learning opportunities based on evidence using a variety of teaching strategies.

Assists with nursing student clinical rotations and compliance requirements at Phoenix Children’s in collaboration with nursing and affiliated academic organizations.

Collaborates with other disciplines, departments, and academic affiliations as a change agent to implement the pediatric nursing cohort.

Collaborates with organizational and affiliation efforts to blend pediatric focused academic experiences.

Engages in ongoing organizational endeavors which support the philosophy and values of Phoenix Children’s, aligning with nursing model of care and professional development.

Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
