Position Summary

The Accounting Supervisor supports the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and process efficiency. This role provides day-to-day leadership and direction to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. The supervisor works closely with the Accounting Operations Manager to implement system improvements, streamline workflows, and maintain strong internal controls across core accounting functions.

Position Duties

  • Staff Supervision & Leadership
    • Supervises accounting staff responsible for routine accounting activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
    • Provides guidance and support to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Ensures timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
    • Assists in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Monitors compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Supports internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Process Improvement & System Support
    • Collaborates with the Accounting Operations Manager to identify and implement process improvements and automation initiatives.
    • Assists in system upgrades, testing, and integration projects led by the Accounting Operations Manager.
    • Maintains and updates accounting procedures and documentation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Coordinates with accounts payable, payroll, and other finance functions to ensure data integrity and operational alignment.
  • Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
