Position Summary

Posting Note: This is a technical role and requires use of multiple IT applications. Experience working with IT databases is highly preferred.

One of the goals of a Clinically Integrated Network is to assist in managing care, cost, and outcomes across the continuum of care. The Sr. Population Health Business Analyst supports the Clinically Integrated Networks Disease Management, Utilization Management, Case Management and Population Health initiatives. This position with little or no supervision, develops and executes test scripts, configures applications, documents current workflows to understand system impacts, suggests new workflows to support the system and reporting, creates reports utilizing requirements, creates dashboards from the reporting requirements, creates system training documentation for end users, researches clinical data issues to determine root cause and document findings, and lastly will lead the training of new Population Health Business Analysts. This position will directly report to the Manager, Population Health and will work collaboratively with the PCCN Teams, IT, and external vendors.

Position Duties

  1. Works collaboratively with the population health information system development team and PCCN operations team (including outside vendors). The collaboration includes implementation and maintenance of applications to ensure business requirements are met, with little to no supervision.
    • a) Maintains the application(s) utilizing Administrative tools driven by requirements from the business.
    • b) Creates a Test Plan based on business and technical requirements.
    • c) Creates test scripts which support the Test Plan; then assigns the test scripts or execute them as staffing permits.
    • d) If defects/bugs are found, clearly documents the defect/bug and works directly with the developer to have the defect/bug fixed.
    • e) Works collaboratively with the PCCN to document how the needed workflow will be expected to execute in the respective application.
    • f) Attends and actively participates in meetings related to the applications.
    • g) Leading when necessary, works collaboratively with other analysts and developers in PCH IT to test and monitor applications as well as file feeds into the application. If any issues arise, works with the developer(s) to address/fix the issue.
    • h) Maintains a working knowledge of all of the user roles within the PCCN for the purpose of applying this knowledge to the applications and training new Population Health Business Analyst(s).
    • i) Maintains and creates current workflows as they relate to the applications. Creates options for future workflows to support the systems and reporting needs.
    • j) Assists to ensure the applications meets all regulatory requirements.
  2. Supports Clinical Integration through involvement with applications, reporting and root cause analysis, with little to no supervision.
    • a) Attends and participates in meetings with other vendors who provide applications that also support Population Health.
    • b) Maintains the applications utilizing Administrative tools.
    • c) Independently, conducts root cause analysis of reported issues related to applications that support Population Health. The root cause analysis includes clear documentation of the stated issue, the determined cause of the issue and options of how to correct the reported issue.
    • d) Creates reports and dashboards utilizing various data sources utilizing requirements.
    • e) Creates and distributes the established daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  3. Educates and provides technical assistance.
    • a) Lead trainer for any new Population Health Business Analysts.
    • b) Creates training materials for the Care Management and Provider Operations Teams related to specific applications (navigation training).
    • c) Provides basic technical assistance to the Care Management and Provider Operations Teams related to application use.
  4. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
