Position Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the PCMG Chief Operating Officer (COO), this position is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all Phoenix Children’s Medical Group (PCMG) medical operations. This includes practice operations, strategic planning and implementation and fiscal accountability to service lines. This position supports PCMG program operations and development; and integrates Finance, Human Resources, Strategic Planning and Business Development, and Information Technology functions to drive operational and fiscal success for PCMG and PCH.

Position Duties

  1. As a key member of the Phoenix Children's Medical Group leadership team, this position provides key input and coordination with PCH Finance relative to their oversight of PCMG fiscal responsibility. This includes timely and consistent review of financial performance of PCMG and partnering with decision support and PCH Finance to assure ongoing strong financial performance of the medical group. Directs and/or supports development, analysis, and implementation of functional enhancements of practice management billing system, assuring the capture and recovery of all reimbursement revenue.
  2. As a member of the Phoenix Children’s Medical Group Leadership team works to assure operational efficiency. This includes timely and consistent review of operations to assure all divisions are maximizing patient access, throughput and the highest quality of care for our patients and families.
  3. Assists Phoenix Children’s Medical Group COO and leadership team in partnership with PCH leadership to develop and implement PCMG Strategic Plan. This includes implementation of all strategic plans throughout all PCMG medical divisions to assure consistent and efficient operations.
  4. Develops, establishes, and communicates means to implement standards of expectation, performance and behavior for PCMG. Develops, revises, and evaluates all clinical outcome measures, including physician productivity and staff efficiency, to ensure achievement of established financial and productivity objectives. Effectively communicates through appropriate means and forums (staff meetings, letters, performance competencies, etc.) and maintains evidence in the work place.
  5. Helps lead and support PCMG Managers and Directors to effectively manage all PCMG services and programs. Supports interview process, hires and develops means to assure training of personnel to perform competently the work responsibilities of the department, services or programs. Develops means to promote intra and inter departmental operational objectives as established with upper management.
  6. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments. Establishes processes to involve personnel and self in continuing education relevant to work responsibilities. Demonstrates use of current knowledge in setting the direction and objectives for all departments/services, recommending service or programmatic change, to support budgetary agendas, and to maximize benefit from collegial exchanges.
  7. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
