Position Summary

This position monitors and oversees the entire centralized business office functions, to include but not limited to, staff, system, processes, training, building relationships, and reporting. This position also acts as liaison between management and employee concerns, issues and feedback including ensuring compliance with all PCH policies and procedures. This position also serves the management of PCPC as being the resource for all revenue cycle activities.

Position Duties

  1. Acts as a technical resource and liaison to all offices within the PCPC and APES structure through the resolution of claims, payment posting, research, resolving outstanding AR, charge entry, correspondence, claim edits, payer rejections, claim filing, statement processing, and customer service.
    • Assists all staff within the department as required or requested in completing the necessary daily duties within the business office.
    • Prepares and distributes daily reports to the offices for full transparency of revenue cycle miles stones, such as charges, claim filings, collections and posted payments.
    • Monitors the workflow within the entire department to ensure items mentioned above are being handled efficiently.
    • Front end balancing daily.
  2. Supervises and coordinates the entire business office to ensure the department is meeting the standards set forth by upper management to include but not limited to the following:
    • Days in AR to 30 days
    • Payment posting to be within 2 days of the deposit date
    • Charge entry within 2 days of the date of service for office visits and 5 days for procedures
  3. Proactively work with all staff members and practices to ensure the office is running at an optimal level while at the same time building and nurturing relationships with the different practices.
    • Train employees
    • Assist in the backend build of Intergy when new acquisitions occur
    • Build working relationships with all offices
    • Mentor team members
    • Attend monthly meetings with each practice to review AR Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  4. Supervises and coordinates all work flows to ensure efficient operations by providing guidance and problem resolution and monitoring accounts receivable functions.
    • Works cooperatively and in conjunction with Information Technology, acting as department’s representative for accounts receivable system needs.
    • Makes recommendations for system changes, upgrades, and enhancements to improve delivery of programs and service.
    • Responsible for closing and balancing days and system maintenance throughout the month.
  5. Proactively interfaces with Payers, employees, and management to resolve accounts receivable exceptions reconcile remittance statements and update payer information.
    • Attend JOC meetings with payers and review outstanding items to obtain quick resolution of issues.
    • Track and trend issues by payer to ensure accuracy.
  6. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
