Position Summary

The Senior Productivity Specialist coordinates activities related to productivity reporting with an emphasis on superior customer service and high quality of work product measured in terms of timeliness and accuracy. This position is responsible for the maintenance, consistency, and accuracy of the productivity reporting system, oversees the creation and distribution of productivity reports, designs presentation reports for leadership, and assesses financial and operational impact of productivity. The Senior Productivity Specialist monitors and assists with authorizations in the PCH Position Control program to include research and correction of changes made outside of the system. This position also develops productivity standards and benchmarking from CHA reports, and acts as the primary internal consultant to management regarding productivity, performing analytical work to determine root causes for productivity issues and process optimization.

Position Duties

  1. Produces and oversees productivity reporting to meet the evolving needs of operations
    • Administers and supervises the coordination of volume designations and recording of statistics for departments and produces biweekly reports based on worked hours and volumes.
    • Analyses, interprets, and communicates productivity information and data effectively verbally and written.
  2. Monitors and assists employees with authorization process in Position Control
    • Primary contact for the hospital to research and resolve issues with authorizations in the PCH Position Control program.
    • Works directly with IT and HR to identify and correct any known authorization issues in Position Control
  3. Develops productivity standards, benchmark reporting and assists with the labor budget process
    • Monitors and establishes productivity standards used in the labor budget for all variable departments.
    • Monitors and adjusts any mid year corrections to productivity standards.
    • Provides benchmark data from CHA or other sources when working with departments on their productivity standards.
  4. Organizes the Workforce Analytics Group (WAG) Committee meetings to discuss and approve any proposed changes to targets or defined volumes
    • Runs the monthly WAG meeting where productivity targets are discussed and any changes are proposed for approval by the CFO.
    • Provides feedback to the committee on issues with Position Control or productivity reporting that can then be shared with management and senior leadership.
  5. Maintains Hierarchy and Security within EPSi
    • Maintains the productivity hierarchy for VP, Director and Managers and security settings for EPSi users to ensure they have proper access to productivity and financial reporting.
  6. Coordinates Productivity Specialist's reporting and departmental feedback
    • Oversees all productivity reporting and works directly with the Productivity Specialist to ensure accuracy and timeliness of biweekly reporting.
    • Assists with root cause analyses for departments significantly above or below their productivity standard and provides feedback and labor reporting for performance improvement and process optimization.
  7. Develops and maintains written documentation, policies, and procedures for productivity reporting
    • Develops training materials and facilitates training to all levels of management utilizing available technology.
    • Educates senior and middle management regarding the meaning, impact, and nuances of the productivity reporting data.
  8. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
