Position Summary

Position Duties

  1. Facilitates the process of planning and implementing a clear strategic direction for assigned areas to ensure mission, vision and values are upheld and strategy is consistent with the organizational plan of Phoenix Children’s.
    • Researches new and innovative outreach programs and services responsive to community and based on assessment processes targeted for health and safety needs of children
    • Supports planning efforts for assigned areas, focusing on effective translation of strategy into operational objectives and specific, measurable goals /outcome measures with associated deliverables that reflect community needs/requests
    • Serves as primary liaison or assigns staff to designated community groups and organizations to facilitate appropriate involvement in departmental planning/ collaboration.
  2. Manages and supervises administrative operations of assigned areas to ensure quality interventions consistent with established professional and regulatory standards as well as local/state/national prevention standards/initiatives.
    • Manages the implementation and evaluation of department services; proactively assesses program, service and functional effectiveness; makes regular and consistent effort to develop and facilitate continuous process improvement.
    • Ensures that program efforts are measurable, outcome-driven, and evidence based
    • Coordinates staff schedules
  3. Manages all aspects of grant funded programs to ensure achievement of stated objectives and goals consistent with grant requirements; seeks additional funding sources in support of community programs as necessary
    • Identifies funding sources that support strategic initiatives
    • Plans and implements grant/corporate funding requests that support strategic program community initiatives
    • Collaborates with the Foundation to coordinate requests for funding proposals to ensure that efforts meet the specified PCH guidelines and support the overall outreach mission.
    • Coordinates proposal writing with partners, staff, the finance department , and the foundation
    • Submits grant contracts to legal for approval and monitors stated deliverables.
    • Completes financial and grants reports as required by funder
  4. Develops/ implements programmatic and financial outcome measures, related tracking and monitoring systems and mechanisms that integrate efforts into organization-wide quality Improvement systems as applicable
    • Establishes program success measures and mechanisms to track program interventions, locations, costs, and outcomes
    • Establishes program budgets with the support of the Finance Department and monitors budget outcomes to assure expected financial performance
    • Monitors grant/corporate financial obligations and develops reports with the Finance Department to document fiscal responsibility with funders.
  5. Actively participates in community-based pediatric initiatives and serves as a liaison between the hospital and community agencies and committees as requested
  6. Develops and supervises staff through provision of timely feedback and use of appropriate Human Resource policies and tools to facilitate and ensure the ability of staff to achieve highest level of professional growth and desired performance standards
    • Meets consistently with staff to review establish goals, gauge progress, and identify performance support and needs.
    • Facilitates the professional growth of staff by accurately assessing learning needs, styles and barriers to learning and coordinating learning opportunities.
    • Provides feedback and immediate intervention to address staff performance issues
  7. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
