Position Summary

This position will source, negotiate, contract and purchase capital equipment, medical, and non-medical supplies and services in support of hospital operations. Researches and selects products according to quality, price, and serviceability. This position will also determine methods of procurement such as sole source negotiations or the competitive bid process.

Position Duties

  1. Prepares a variety of managerial reports, performance metrics, and analyses, including, but not limited to, budget information, supply utilization, replenishment levels, and capital expenditures. Conducts periodic audits as necessary.
  2. Works independently, oversees the effective sourcing, negotiates, and purchases capital equipment, medical and non-medical supplies, and contracts services within established deadlines to support hospital operations. Ensures schedules remain on target. Ensures all standards are followed, as necessary.
  3. Works closely and cooperatively with other staff members and senior management on behalf of the department. Anticipates departmental or hospital needs where possible and acts as necessary. Provides technical support and sound and effective purchasing counsel as needed.
  4. Works collaboratively with others as assigned to develop, submit,track and review RFI's, RFP's and other type proposal documents and is involved in decision making processes.
  5. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
