Corporate Counsel is responsible for providing a wide range of in-house legal services for Phoenix Children's Hospital. Primary areas of focus to include health care law, transactions, and litigation.

1. Provides oversight, direction and support for the Office of General Counsel.
   • Assists in developing and implementing departmental goals and objectives, departmental meetings and initiatives, as requested by the General Counsel.
   • Educates staff through client conferences, training sessions and oral presentations; advises clients on new developments in the law and proactively identifies problem areas for clients to minimize risks.
2. Provides legal advice and counsel in diverse matters affecting the day-to-day activities of the institution by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal matters.
3. Leads various legal projects and negotiates workable solutions to complex and sensitive legal issues.
4. Manages business litigation, including subpoena process, involving Phoenix Childrens Hospital.
5. Manages contract review and work flow process and ensures timely review and approval of contracts.
6. Assists in the corporate secretarial functions of the Phoenix Childrens Hospital corporate entities and affiliates, including corporate filings, trademark filings, etc.
7. Serves as a legal resource to the Risk Management and Compliance departments.
8. Assists in negotiating, documenting and closing transactions, including physician practice acquisitions and corporate transactions.
9. Assists in the efficient use, management, and evaluation of outside counsel consistent with budgetary projections.
10. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
